Catherine Farmer is studying Mechanical Engineering at Duke University, and is scheduled to graduate in 2018. She is completing an eight week summer internship in the Library from June to August 2015 through the DukeEngage Civic Engagement Programme and the Kenan Institute for Ethics at Duke University http://kenan.ethics.duke.edu/humanrights/students/dukeengage-dublin/
During her time at the Chester Beatty Library, Catherine has worked on multiple projects, including preparing feedback surveys, leading focus groups, writing presentations for large-group tours based on the collections, increasing the Education Department’s web presence, as well as documenting key events for the Education Department.
Her main focus during her internship has been working on the Library’s project for the upcoming Irish Centennial. Through that, she is writing a survey and helping coordinate a vox pop on what it means to be Irish in 2016.
